This is where a plan to post updates on my script writing progress
2/28/18 - Update 1 I have finished the second draft of my script for a short horror film. This took a while longer than my first draft which I wrote in about a day over the summer. I decided to rewrite and add to certain areas of the script. in the original draft I didn't feel that there was enough suspense in the story to classify it as a horror movie and I felt that I didn't build up anything about the attic to hint at anything happening which led to the climax not making much sense and the whole story feeling rushed with the action not seeming like it belongs and or is out of place. I also felt that I have added some more depth to some characters even though I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to that. The script doesn't accurately convey the amount of time i want to spend on each scene so I need to work on that as well. Finally I need to go into actual detail in the beginning for the house tour segment that way i can flesh out the house more and hint at things that happen around the house.
Update #2 3/20/18 I finished up some rewrites. I still have a few other touch up spots (what does Tori use to open the attic door and where does she find it). Little things like that need to be fixed before I start doing anything with it but other than that I feel pretty comfortable with the script The link to the script is https://docs.google.com/document/d/17gzCQpd2UPSFlRbPbX5roLoX_3AK73-u3f5gEFqFFv4
Update #3 4/5/18 I'm pretty confident with my script and I think I can run with it. I'm going to start talking to people about potentially setting up a time to film it. I need to look into casting, props, makeup, and costumes. I have the location set up so that isn't really I problem. I would just have to redecorate the location and make it fit the script a little better. A concern of mine is music. I'm going to talk to people about if I should have backing music or if I should take a silent approach so every movement in the movie makes an audible noise. I know a few people with good cameras so the ability to film exists. I think I'm going to have some people come to the location and do some preliminary filming to check and see if the shots I want are actually possible. Another large concern of mine is audio quality. The cameras are able to record picture well but I don't know if sound quality will be good and if it isn't I might have to invest in getting some mic's in order to record better sound.
